Apple held a meeting after making a little girl cry

Friday, April 28th, 2006

I know this story from AppleInsider is like 14 days old (lol), but I just wanted to say that it is good of Apple to change how they deal with little kids.

But I also understand from their view, that things could get messy if they don’t give a warning out (because the person could file a lawsuit against Apple if Apple released a product similar to their idea and the person could “claim Apple stole it” and get money)….

Okay, that’s what I understood from reading the forum post about the article… I could be wrong about that little be about being sued.

Companies are competing differently

Friday, April 28th, 2006

C|Net has a good article on “stack wars”. Stack wars is when a company tries to get a collection of software that fits and works together.

By doing this, they can offer superior support, and can make sure everything is compatible.

I’m definatly a Googler

Saturday, April 15th, 2006

When I say Googler, I don’t mean just using Google to search.

  • Of course I use Google for search (how am I supposed to explain this? everyone uses something for search right?)
  • I use Google for bookmarking and looking at my search history (and trends)
  • I use Gmail for email (even for my company by using the Hosted Gmail service)
  • I use Google Calendar for all of my events (although it just came out, I love it)
  • I use the Personalized Homepage for my homepage (it gives me a quick view of my email, the time, the weather, multiple news feeds, and apple rumor feeds ;) )
  • I use the Personalized homepage for the news to view a quick view of my fav. topics
  • I use Google Analytics to view the stats on my websites

I’m sure Google has a a ‘profile’ on what type of person I am… lol

Nonetheless, I enjoy using their products, and the ones I feel are a waste of time, well, I don’t use them. All the others, I use them because they’re easy to use, not because they were made by Google.

1st Day of School!

Monday, April 10th, 2006

Well, how should I say this. I had a good, but long day.

The main thing for me that ALWAYS sticks out about Japanese guys is that they’re shy to talk about and/or with girls. I don’t mean like brag or anything but like, it’s like back in middle school where the girls hung out with the girls and the guys hung out with the guys. You know? (There’s always the couple who get along REAL well ;) )

I got both my train passes, and now just a bus pass to get left. The ride is about 1:45 long one way, which SUCKS. I can’t wait ’till my dad comes back from South Africa so we can get a place closer!

Clear up some things

Saturday, April 8th, 2006

After I posted my last post, I kinda felt bad. I always write pretty harshly about christians, but in truth, I really don’t care who believes in what. So I may seem like a really anti-christian person at first, but if you do take the time, you’ll see whenever I talk/chat with people I’m really not, I’m pretty laid back.

Just wanted to get that off my mind, sorry if I offended anyone.

Science wins over ID again!

Saturday, April 8th, 2006

Well, it sure seems that darwin’s theory is right. Frickin’ christians, some of them are nice, but the extremists, they’re just agh. Ignorant.

I wish I had my Time magazine which had a report that “believing in god” is in our genes. It really makes sense, lol. It described how there was a gene in our DNA that made us “want” to believe in a higher power. Those of us with that gene being dominant are stronger believers, and those of us without that aren’t believers. Now, I’m not sure if that is true, kuz I don’t want any missing genes in me, but it sure makes me feel good. :P
I’ve gotten into the whole “am I religious” conversation with my mom. And in the end, I’m somewhat a Buddhist. I’m not convinced I am, my mom thinks so though.

So, I don’t believe there is a ‘higher being’, or any sort of god. I do think though that after you die, you don’t just dissappear. This world is still new to us humans, we don’t know every thing about it. There’s so many (so far) unexplainable things. But the more we ask our selves about them, and the more we look into it, I think we’ll discover that the whole world is just one big ecosystem.

I’ve been big on Steven Hawking’s work, I read a lot of his work and wrote multiple reports on them. (though, my memory being what it is doesn’t exactly help me all that much, so if i get terms wrong, sorry about that I’ll fix em up later, just want to get this down while it’s in my head).

So, our universe is expanding at an increasing rate, from which at one point in time all our galaxies came from. So there was a big bang. But what was before the big bang? Did we all just come from some small infinite density thing? I don’t think so. We’re talking about only our universe now. And who knows if other universes had influence on it then, or have even now.

There’s also the theory that maybe our universe just expands and collapses and keeps doing that, like a bouncy ball. (okay end of that train of thought)

Another thing I think helps with my idea of multiple universes/unkown things, is the n-reactor. (err…) Okay, so I had forgotten the name of the thing, and that made it even harder to search for it… So I just gave up. But what it did, was it produced 2/3’s more power than it needed to run. So out of 3/3, 1/3 was used to run the machine, and 2/3 was just the output power… Man do I wish I remember the name fo the damn thing.

Phishing…. f*** it

Saturday, April 8th, 2006

Damn, I just fell for one! Well, it wasn’t a serious one or anything. But the website userviewprofile.com is a DreamHost customer and he has it setup so a flash file is embedded into a user’s profile page (specifically: userviewprofile.com/login8.swf ) which redirects the user to the website.

The website mimicks MySpace’s login page, but all the data entered is then passed on to the userviewprofile.com/log.php page, and then they are redirected back to the official MySpace login page with the error “incorrrect username/password”.

Ah, what a pain! The password I used for myspace was my easy one that I use for all the stuff I don’t care (a lot) about, but now I have to go around changing them all!

Added: So, my fix was simple, I did a search on Google for “Ender at Eros”, and “Takumi Shimada”, and since they were already “personalized”, it was really easy to go all to the ones I needed to change and make the changes!

Review: pzizz

Saturday, April 8th, 2006

Software name: pzizz
Developer: Brainwaive
Website: www.pzizz.com

Well, first off, I’d like to thank my friend Sam for telling me about macZot.com. It’s a website that has programs to download daily, and it’s pretty neat. Recently they had their MyzteryZOT which I purchased (and have yet to receive my serial numbers for the software that comes with it, in cluding pzizz) and I downloaded the programs so I could use them once I got the serials.

Well, I tried pzizz first, because well, it seemed interesting. (This is my first time writing a review, so feedback would be awsome)

It has a very simple interface (load nap, generate, play, stop, volume control, time left) which like i said earlier, is the key. Simple is good. The product description it has gave me a different thought of what the software would do, it’s more like a hypnosis thing.

I never really believed that hypnosis works, and I still don’t think it does. But pzizz really does relax you. (I know, it says not for anyone under 18, which I don’t understand why… ) You can set your custom time from 10 min to 60 min. There are two modes, one is the nap mode, and another is the sleep mode. I’m assuming you use the nap for napping and sleep for sleeping (duh). Each mode has different stuff, there’s a guy talking in the background and some neat music playing to relax you.

At the end of your experience, an alarm goes off to make sure you’re awake… I guess some people really do get stuck in it huh? I’m going to need to try this again, because first off, I tried it while laying half on the floor half on a step-up thing, which kinda disturbed my back. :P Overall, I’d give this a 7 out of 10. It didn’t give all that it said it would, but it did relax me and give me some ideas.

Google’s Search History & Bookmarking

Friday, April 7th, 2006

Have any of you tried using Google’s search history and bookmarking features?

They’re pretty awsome. I guess the #1 thing I like about Google products, is that they’re simple. That’s the key. I use BlinkList sometimes, but it just has too much JUNK. (I like their idea and what they’re trying to do, there’s just too much stuff for me to want to go to it just to get one link).

I’ve been using Google’s online bookmarking, and it’s very nice. I have a link to “bookmark this” and to view the bookmarks… but that’s about all I have in my firefox bookmarks bar. Pretty amazing huh?

Their search history is amazing too. As long as you stay logged in, any search you make (whether it be on personolized search, in your firefox toolbar, or on the normal Google search), it gets recorded and archived. I thought I’d see when I started using the thing, so I clicked all the way back in my archives, and it’s been recording every search I’ve made since October 2005! That’s soo awsome.

I have more readers in different places than I thought!

Friday, April 7th, 2006

I just checked up on my Google Analytics for my blog… Where I thought I only had like 2 readers, I find there’s more than that!

Here’s an image of the Geomap overlay or w/e it’s called:

StarCraft idiots

Friday, April 7th, 2006

You know, when you’re on the net, chatting with random people, sometimes you meet really smart ones, but most of the time you meet some teenage (or older), dumbfucks who claim they can hack anything and that it’s easy.

In my opinion, if you know how things work, and know how to work things right, it would be easy. But these guys don’t even know how they work! Ah, sorry, this is just me blabbing on about how I hate them.

I was chatting with Shadow-Slayer, and he’s like “firewalls are easy, just go around them”….. okay, any IT guy knows you can’t just “walk around a firewall”. I mean, seriously.

Then there’s soupdog(M)M(C) who’s like “i’m 10 years old and i can hack into the police and a resteraunt”…. Ahhhhhh! What has the world come too!

StarCraft, yet again.

Thursday, April 6th, 2006

Well, I’m starting to play StarCraft again, on battle.net.

I must say, it’s a great game. I can never get tired of it.

I’ve got my own photo gallery here: http://photos.takshimada.info/ (the reason I’m mentioning this, is because I have a starcraft section) It’s just a simple script by Lussumo that lets you browse the directory. Very simple. I love it too.

claimID

Thursday, April 6th, 2006

This claim ID thing is pretty cool. I’ve got mine kinda setup now… I’m just too lazy to go into the whole thing detaily (is that right?)…. so I just added some links and I put the claim ID link on my blog.
